The role of the Association
The Private Speech Pathologists Association of Western Australia acts as an exclusive  resource for its members members to:

  • Stimulate the growth of private Speech Pathology in Western Australia and to assist private Speech Pathologists to develop their proper role within the profession;
  • Make recommendations to the Council of Speech Pathology Australia on matters pertaining to private practice;
  • Establish and maintain liaison with private practitioners in associated professions and with other agencies such as registered health funds in Western Australia;
  • Publish and circulate to interested professionals a detailed register of private Speech Pathology services and facilities in Western Australia;
  • Promote the interests of members and provide a means for combined action in any matter affecting a member or group of members;
  • Offer support to members to enable them to provide the best possible services;
  • Promote educational activities in association with the Speech Pathology Australia WA Branch; and
  • Provide information to the enquiring public regarding private speech pathology services.

The membership year for PSPAWA runs from July 1 – June 30, although new memberships are welcome at any time. Memberships received after March 31 in any year will cost 50% of the usual current membership fee.
