A dynamic and well rounded speech pathology contractor is required to work 4 days per week in a 24 month contract at Viva speech pathology with the possibility of further extension. The position exists across two private speech pathology clinics (Tuart Hill and Joondalup). Candidates looking for 2 days of work per week are encouraged to also apply.
Planning is underway for the contractor/s to commence in August 2014.
The successful candidate will join a friendly, organised and enthusiastic team of 4 therapists and 3 receptionists.

ESSENTIAL 1) Confidence to assess and treat paediatric difficulties in the following areas; *Stuttering *Early language to 6 years *Speech difficulties including CAS *Literacy and school aged language skills up to the ages of 10 years 2) An ability to work effectively in a team 3) Good interpersonal skills 4) Well developed time management and organisational skills 5) A highly motivated person who has the ability to work independently 6) An ability to reflect on own needs for mentoring and professional development and to plan to meet these needs on an ongoing basis 7) Experience and ability to problem solve well when dealing with complex clinical situations 8) Experience and knowledge to effectively manage paediatric behavioural difficulties when they impact on speech pathology intervention or to direct parents to appropriate services 9) Knowledge of the roles of other health professionals and the education system so that speech pathology intervention can be integrated/ considered in the context of what is offered to the child.
DESIRABLE (Please note applicants without these skills will still be considered) 1) Experience working at a speech pathology private practice or student experience in this setting 2) Skills *Literacy and school aged language skills up to the ages of 12 years *An interest / skills in working with teenagers and adult with developmental speech and language difficulties *An interest/ skills in the areas of treating voice problems *An interest/ skills in the areas of treating stuttering difficulties experienced by teenagers and adults *Experience in diagnosing and or treating children with Autism and disabilities *Well developed presentation skills (talks to schools/ day cares)
